Great question Doug!

Yuck! Reminds me of the "Do I get to choose my gender?!?!?!" question. Can
we really develop a coherent theory of subjectivation absent a totalizing
theory of the subject? This problem seems to lie at the heart of Foucault's
work. Bryan's question on the ontogenesis of subjectivity seems to point to
this problem.

Do we have a mature theorization of subjectivity?
