Racism can be viewed as a pathology of power. If we cut the crap of half-digested and very abstract understandings of power that we can see in certain parts of the Foucault-reception there are some very valuable insights to be gained from Foucault on the subject of racism and power.

Also, Foucault's remarks should be read in context, I believe, because they indicate a certain shift in his theoretical and political orientation (a move closer to Arendt and the critique of totalitarianism and a move away from the contemporary French marxism and proto-marxism - including Deleuze).
