CALL FOR PAPERS
SPECIAL SESSION FOR THE WASHINGTON DC MLA CONFERENCE, 1996
TITLE: BATAILLE, FOUCAULT, DELEUZE AND POLITICS.
Issues concerning the political impact of their conception of the subject
as a desiring body. Are theories of the body, such as the ones proposed by
these three writers, inherently progressive? How do the theoretical
discourses of these writers relate to their -and ours- specific positions
on contemporary political dilemmas? How does the concept of economy appear
in their works? Monographic or comparative papers considered.
Please send 2-page abstracts or 10-page papers by March 18 to:
