a couple of references: Foucaul's new domains edited by Mike Gane and Terry
Johnson (Routledge), esp chapter 5 and of course the History of Sexuality,
Vol 1. the chapters on power as diffuse and located at particular nodal
points, power as a bottom up and sedimentation process, which in its
dispersion leads to larger power-based divides - these are the broad
structural/power differentials we see. In the French edition its in part 2
(dispositif de sexualite) chapter 2 (methode).
