Assistant Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies (Social Sciences), Annual (Tenure Track),
University Honors Program

The undergraduate honors college of Portland State University seeks an assistant professor,
either possessing the Ph.D., or nearing completion, with expertise both in a recognized subject
area of the social sciences, and with some background, training and expertise in the historical
and theoretical interrelation of the social sciences. This new member of our faculty will ideally
have demonstrated effectiveness as a classroom teacher; this person would be able to
participate in the three years of the team-taught core curriculum, as well as offering additional
upper-division coursework that would relate to the general and liberal education objectives of
the honors college. Salary Range: $35,000-$37,000; closing date April 30, 1997.
