And you know, the good old stuffy Anglo-Americans have a *way* bigger
problem with this kind of thing than the post-whatevers do. 'Cause the
past is, you know, *passed*, gone, not there any more--so what do our
propositions about the past *refer* to? Nothing! Uh oh. (I dunno, what
*could* they refer to? Memories? Oh dear. Records? Zut alors.)
