I started wondering if there are any films about Stalin's purge during
1936-38. Robert Conquest has written several books about this period. One
amazing chapter in his "The Great Terror" relates the reaction of the officers
after they had been arrested. He depicts them as asking out loud, "Why, Why?"
Also, it seems that the purge went beyond just the officer cadre of the Red
Army. Does anyone know of any films about this? Fred
