Re: Foucault and genetic testing

Matthew,
Although I do not know where to find any of Foucault's own work on genetic
testing, there are several works that address it via Foucault's conceptual
apparatus. Paul Rabinow's book _Essays on the Anthropology of Reason_
conatins and essay that I find excellent, "Artificiality and Enlightenment:
>From Sociobiology to Biosociality." The essay was originally printed in
INCORPORATIONS, by Zone press. Also, Rabinow edited an issue of the periodical
_Culture and Psychiatry_that has at least one piece that directly addresses
the Humane Genome Project in terms of disciplining the body. I will dig up the
exact references and send them to the list.
I would find it most helpful to address this topic on the list. If you
would like, when you get the texts from _Culture and Psychiatry_ we could see
if folks want to join in as we summarize and analyze them via the list.
Any other folks interested?
Soon,
Chad
