Alan,
I suggest checking out, if you havn't already, "Mental Illness and
Psychoilogy" Herbert Dreyfus writes the introduction published by
Univeristy of California Press - Berkley. Dreyfus also wrote the
semi-famous book "Michael Foucault: Beyond Structuralism and Hermeneutics".
In the inttoduction Dreyfus quotes Focault in MF's admeration to
Heidegger. Furthermore the book is iunteresting n that it was published
twice, in the second printing Foucault radically changes part II of the
book showing his change from admeration of Freud to a stronger criticism of
Freud. (of course this is an over simplification of the change but the
main poitn is there)
