You might know this, but a chapter of Histoire de la folie that was not in
the English translation has been translated by Anthony Pugh (see previous
mail).

It's worth noting that though chapters in the English translation appear to
be the same as some of those in the French, they don't always contain the
same stuff. Some chapters are missing entirely, others heavily edited. And
the English translation is not quite the same as the 1964 edited French
version - as i recall it has one additional chapter from the original.

On another point, the French title of the second appendix to the 1972
edition is 'La folie, l'absence d'oeuvre' not 'La folie, l'absence de
l'oeuvre'. So it's the absence of work, not of _the_ work. I'm not entirely
sure of what the point of this is, but it is worth noting.
