Dear list,
I read:
For
> example,
> early Maoist China employed bands of proletarian propagandists to the
rural
> villages, to give lectures, to perform plays and to generally "educate"
the
> peasantry
> as to the virtues of communism.
Also, a well conceived statement concerning Foucault and the former eastern
regimes. Where is the problem ? The problem is that
Foucault was deeply influenced by marxisms. I say marxisms and not marxism -
the useful, for communist and anticommunist propaganda, mith of hard line
doctrine for pure, manual working class.
There is a Foucault's conference "Marx, Nietzsche, Freud" (unfortunatelly I
know only the italian version published by Aut-Aut 1984) where his marxian
roots are well explained. More, there is an intervieuw with Alessandro
Fontana (an assistant of Foucault) published in "Microfisica del potere"
where Foucault condamned the eastern socialist countries, their brohers like
old western communists parties and, at the same moment, talks about the
theoretical relevance of the old Karl Marx.
