I have been meaning to post this for a while. A couple of months ago
I reread Discipline and Punish during the day and watched the French
miniseries with Gerard Depardieu The Count of Monte Cristo in the
evenings. What an amazing combination!!! All gothic 19th century
French incarceration and struggles for justice -an excellent
cultural, intellectual and imaginative experience all round!
