You might check out Edward Soja's "Heterotopologies: A rememberance of
Other Spaces in the Citadel-LA" from _Postmodern Cities and Spaces_
(1995). He explores relationships among power, space, history, and
geography. The first half is basically a summary of Foucault's "Of Other
Spaces" and the second half examines how the theories play out in urban
spaces (mostly LA). Take care.
