Dear Ali,

I only read your mail, and therefore I thought, that it could be helpful =
to point out the connection between Foucaults >=E9v=E9nement< and =
Heideggers >Vom Ereignis<, which was very important for my studies. I =
did not recognize, that the debate started with >Ereignis<. Please send =
me Stuarts Mail, because, however, I did not receive it. I am deeply =
interested in this question, which Foucault also connected with =
Nietzsche, the >Annales School< and the quantitative type of history.

Best Regards,

Alessandro =20

Dear Alessendro
=20
Pls refer to Stuarts earlier mail entitled "Heidegger and Ereignis' in =
the context of which I wrote the present mail you are commenting on.=20
=20
Beside this can you pinpoint where I have translated Augenblick as =
event? What I was doing was to point out certain similarities between =
Heidegger's conception of Augenblick and Foucault's conception of evet =
as they seemed to me. I was doing nothing else in that mail.
=20
Hope this helps
regards
ali

Dear Ali, dear Maureen,=20
I only want you to remember, that >the event< is translated into =
german as >das Ereignis< and not as >der Augenblick< (english: the =
moment). This is also the case in Foucaults texts (french: =
l'=E9v=E9nement; german: das Ereignis and english: the event). So the =
most important text of Heidegger could be >Vom Ereignis<.=20
