'The true history is the history of desire. A
capitalist, or today's technocrat, does not desire in
the same way a slave merchant or official of the
ancient Chinese empire would. That people in a society
desire repression, both for others and for themselves
(italics original), that there are always people who
want to bug others and who have the opportunity to do
so, the "right" to do so, it is this that reveals the
problem of a deep link between libidinal desire and
the social domain. A "disinterested" love for the
oppressive machine: Nietsche said some beautiful
things about this Permanent Triumph of Slaves(caps

Weak, impose their mode of life upon us all.(caps

Chaosophy: Felix Guattari, Trans. David L. Sweet.
Dear Lydia -- I think your remarks most pertinent. As
are Guattari's. The delirium has reached its boiling
point and the threshold's been crossed, and as Deleuze
says in LINES, perhaps it has been crossed to soon.
Which puts me in mind of something Beckett said about
the fall of the Berlin Wall. When S. Beckett was asked
his opinion of the matter he replied: It is too soon,
too soon. The recent deterritorializations are
examples of the 3 and 4th lines which are perhaps
lines of flight, but dangerous as old go get and more.
God help us all and help the souls of the dead and the
souls of the living. Those stuck in matter and those
not.
