A small remark - there is a discussion of episteme and 'dispositif' in
Power/Knowledge 194-7. It may be also of interest that, as Stuart Elden has noted,
'mathesis', which is one of the episteme-defining concepts in the Order of
Things, recurs in the 76 lectures. then again, back in prehistoric 1969, there is
a restatement-redefinition of 'episteme' in the Archaeology of Knowledge. The
received line is that episteme was monolithic and reactionary (some people
recycle this line to deal with the last books) whereas dispositif is Deleuzian
and cool.
I liked the reference to the philosopher Kandellam in that Agamben piece -
could be another PhD topic there?
