Re: visibilities: a source for rodrigo

re: visibilities and architetures,

a book that i have found useful in my own work on museums and the practice
of vision in relation to knowledge/power, is a routledge study by Eileen
Hooper-Greenhill, MUSEUMS AND THE SHAPING OF KNOWLEDGE. She specifically
sets out to guage the history of museums in relation Foucault's history of
epistemes; i.e., to "see" if there is a correlation. she ends up saying no,
there is not but the "stuff" she presents is very interesting and useful (to
me at least) and is far richer than the simple answer she gives to her
motivating/central question.

if this line is of interest,, then maybe also check out Francis Yates the
ART OF MEMORY. and then there is this long list of books on museums that
date within the last 7-10 years.
