I did´t say that the purpose of the School was to critique Marx. Tha
Frankfurt School opened with the purpose to analyse society from a marxist
perspective (of course, they also used other authors, Weber, Simmel, Lukacs,
etc) , in a non academic style, that is, to develop the essay style. This
was mentioned specifically by Adorno.
