i wanted to say that i very much appreciate all the recomendations and
advice that you have given. i am going to look through the messages again
and then decide what to begin with. wherever i begin, i may read some of the
secondary texts alongside. (nietzsche, yes; i'm safely familiar with him--a
part of my interest in foucault) i too just think that the little i know of
foucault's thought (perhaps it is an idea of what he's doing, rather than
how he does it and why) is incredibly interesting and i'm very eager to
read him in more depth.

again, thank you very much. maybe we'll talk about f again some day. : )
