just a side point, without involving myself in this discussion..
Logically speaking a state can be liberal democratic internally
while being fascist externally, in its treatment of other ppl.
this logical possibility has been substantiated historically many
times in our recent history..
ultimately it would be worthwhile to even question of strict separation and
hence (exonaration) of democracy, liberalism, from fascism and nazism.
Accusing somebody of fascism and nazism is very easy trick these days to
shut up somebody without botehring to engage in painful and careful
argumentation..
look how easily Habermas can get away with thinkers of first rate just by
accusing them of fascist and Nazi tendencies..
so it is not that simple...
