Re: references in 'death of man'

Regarding death of man and its relation to ubermensch in
Focuualt, his Order of Things (OT) is central. Also important is his
introduction to his own translation of Kant's Anthropology. Relavent
passages and other details can be found in Macey's excellent study. The
Lives of Michel Foucault. New York: Pantheon Books, 1994. It would be
helpful to follow relavent passages in OT with the help of three following
excellent commentries: Michel Foucault: Beyond Structuralism and
Hermeneutics, by Hubert L. Dreyfus and Paul Rabinow, Gutting, Gary. Michel
Foucault's Archaeology of Scientific Reason. Cambridge: Cambridge University
Press, 1989 and of course Deluze's Foucault. There is also a very
illuminating article by Canguilhem in Cambridge Companion to Foucault edited
by G. Gutting. Some relavent interviews by Foucault can be found in
Foucault, Michel Religion and Culture. Jeremy Carrette, Ed. New York:
Routledge, 1999.

I am not sure about the second half of your question so I will leave it
here.

Hope it helps
regards
ali
