I did a quick google for the quote and the best I can make out is that
it is either in Dits et Ecrits 4, page 223 or maybe it is in
Hermeneutics of the Subject ...
I can't read French really but I just put the thing into google with quote marks & that's what I found ... let me know if it's right. Or maybe you can run the search again yourself and read through the text that pops up.

Hi all
I'm trying to track down a line from Surveiller et punir quoted in
Guillaume Le Blanc's 2004 article 'Etre assujetti : Althusser,
Foucault, Butler', viz.
" la manière dont un etre humain se transforme en sujet "
This is cited as p.298 in the 1975 edition of Surveiller et punir, but
it isn't there or on any adjacent pages. None of Le Blanc's Surveiller
et punir references seem to match up to my 1975 edition in fact.
The English translation would be "the manner/way in which a human
being transforms itself/is transformed into a subject." If anyone
could direct me to this in Discipline and Punish or help me out in any
way I would be grateful!
Mark
