Re: [Foucault-L] Cours au College de France

Hi list,

'What is Enlightenment' partly comes from the lecture of January 5th, 1983, the first lecture of 1982-1983 series, doesn't it?
A Japanese researcher discusses the subjects treated over the course, though his article is available only in Japanese.

Best,

Tetz Hakoda

> Folks,One small correction to Arianna's note about the CdF courses' publication:The final (1983-84) course is not available in English.  The course that she links to at foucault.info is in fact the course he gave in Berkeley in the fall of 1983.  It has since been published by Semiotext(e) as _Fearless Speech_.  To be sure, this course has significant overlap with the final (1983-84) CdF course, as well as with the 1982-83 course.  The final CdF course is at present only officially available via audiotapes, but I have seen a bootleg transcription (in French).  I have no idea when it will be officially published in the Seuil/Gallimard series, but hope that it will be soon--since there is already a good draft available, it will be easier than beginning the transcription from scratch.  In the meantime, the audiotapes can be listened to at the Collège de France (Paris), at the IMEC (Abbeye d'Ardenne, France), or the University of California-Berkeley Bancroft Library special collections.
