I would also look at Foucault's post Discipline and Punish essay critically re-examining the notion of the Panoptic. I think it is called something like The Panoptic Eye but I do know that it is in his book Power/Knowledge: Selected Interviews. Additionally, if you wanted to expand upon certain concepts, perhaps check out the essay On Geography (the title is something like that) in the same book, it brings forth a more macro concept of the Panoptic gaze, only through different, less structured eyes.
