Perhaps this is really nitpicking--after all, it's clear enough what you
mean--but the idea of "hidden panopticisms" really destroys the concept
of panopticism. The essential realization of panopticism is the faux
camera which contains within it no electronics. (Anyway these are far
more common today than panoptic architectural forms.) A hidden camera
which truly records is the very opposite of panopticism.
