But the point about introducing examples such as China and Tibet etc,
notwithsatnding that such examples were asked for, is surely a strategy for
refuting the claim that certain practices are specific to certain
geo-political entities. Of course, if such a claim is not made then
discussing European colonialism can be conducted without recourse to
examples drawn from elsewhere. But make the claim the such a practice is
unique to such a geo-political entity and such examples are bound to occur.
If only because some people will disagree about such a claim. So it depends
upon how he original question is framed.
