Hey guys,
Thanks for all the references and suggestions concerning reading
Foucault and Marx together and against each other. One particular
issue on the dialogue that has been on my mind is that of ideology. Is
it possible to create an understanding between the importance attached
to ideology by Marxist thought and the critique of ideology-based
theory by Foucault? Or at least to think using both without having too
many impasses created by their differing views on ideology? I think I
remember reading somewhere that Foucault's critique of the concept
operated on a different discursive level than its use by certain
Marxist thinkers, but I don't remember exactly how this was so.
