Hi Michaela!
What's your work about? I'm interested in it because I myself was =
working on the effects of the colonial ethnographic practices and =
discourses in Rwanda, that exactly after 100 years and after a series of =
transfomations has shaped a configuration of different local knowledges, =
that served as a platform for the the 100-days-genocide of 1994, but =
also for approaches of the following scientific explantions.
However - sure you know Saids Orientalism-study and the post-Orientalism =
discussion (e.g. John D. Rogers, 1994: Post-Orientalism and the =
Interpretation of Premodern and Modern Political Identities: The Case of =
Sri Lanka. The Journal of Asian Studies, vol.53, no.1, pp.10-23). Very =
helpful for me was Valentin Y. Mudimbe, 1988: The Invention of Africa: =
Gnosis, Philosophy, and the Order of Knowledge; Bloomington: Indiana =
University Press (see also Manthia Diawara, 1990: Reading Africa through =
Foucault: V. Y. Mudimbe's Reaffirmation. Qest, vol.4, no.1, pp.74-93).
