Re: [Foucault-L] Introduction

Hang on on there Rob! I too am relatively new to Foucault (been reading him
seriously for about a year) and have found his work increasingly rewarding
and exciting the more I read.

Subject: [Foucault-L] Introduction

I would like to introduce myself to group. I am just starting work on a
PhD at the University of Chichester. I want to look at the discourse of
academic reading and am reading Foucault with the idea that I might use
his ideas on the control, production and distribution of discourses as a
means of theorising my research.

I am only beginning to engage with Foucault's ideas and am reading
Discipline and Punish, his essay on the Order of Discourse, and 'What is
an Author?' I am pleased to find that although his work is difficult and
dense I am beginning to get hang of it!
